The AMC Clinical Exam is a high-stakes assessment designed to evaluate your clinical competence, communication skills, and ability to manage patients safely and effectively in the Australian healthcare setting. The exam consists of 14 simulated cases, and candidates must pass at least 9 to achieve a satisfactory outcome.
Each case follows a structured format:
- 2 minutes of reading time.
- 8 minutes of interaction with the simulated patient to take history, perform an examination, explain findings, discuss management, or address ethical concerns.
For optimal preparation, practice regularly with a study partner who is also sitting the exam. Simulating real exam conditions will help improve your time management, clinical reasoning, and confidence under pressure. Focus on structured approaches, clear communication, and patient-centered care to maximize your performance.
